In Vitro
Fertilization- IVF Success Rates
It would be quite difficult to talk about the IVF success
rate if there not too much known about this entire procedure.
But the most important thing is that you will have to consider
the duration, type and severity of the infertility problem.
The IVF success rates will be calculated with access to data
from populations and this data is calculated by sampling and
calculating the average rates. However this can't be done in
this case because every patient is different and each patient
has her own set of experiences and problem. However according
to an experiment, they say that there is 65% of the success in
IVF process as compared to others who did not go through this
process. When the study is carried out some patients are
selected for study and others are kept to wait and used for the
purpose of providiong donor eggs.
The IVF success rates depend upon many factors like the
number of IVF stimulation attempts made, causes of infertility,
upon the eggs- their number, quality and maturity and the age
of the patient. The institutes are mainly concerned about the
treatment of infertility and help the couples have their dream
to have children. The age of the patient is also a very
important factor while considering the IVF success rates
because the rate of fertility begins to decline from mid to
late thirties of women. To increase the rate of pregnancy one
way is to freeze the pre-embryos that are extra and the other
way is to try again. IVF is a scientific process and is a bit
expensive too so when all the less expensive methods fail, IVF
is tried. Also for the success of IVF a healthy egg with a
viable sperm is required along with the uterus that is able to
maintain the pregnancy.
There are many factors that depend upon the individual
patients. Such as the amount of care that a woman takes during
her pregnancy, following this IVF treatement. Then the quality
of the laboratory products also matters a lot. There are
clinics that do not accept the patients beyond a certain age
limit and those patients whose ovarian response is low and so
if the IVF success rates of such clinics were to be calculated,
it would be quite high. IVF depends upon the donor eggs program
and quality of the semen in men, which also counts for 40% of
infertility in IVF process. The success of the pregnancy rates
depends on the IVF cycle too.
